Office Visits
Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, and beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel.
Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure your orthodontic experience is as rewarding as possible. We utilize the latest technology and can offer a variety of treatment options to give you the beautiful individual care you deserve.
Every smile starts with an initial consultation!
Your initial exam/consultation will give you the opportunity to meet our team, and learn more about orthodontics, while receiving a thorough examination to address your chief concerns. Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:
- Patient information and medical history forms completed. These forms will be sent to you once an exam is scheduled, or you can download them from our website.
- Any panoramic X-ray taken within the past six months.
- If you have orthodontic insurance, please bring a current insurance card.
During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.
- Is this a condition that orthodontics can address?
- Is treatment needed now, or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other events have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
- How long will treatment take?
Although we can often answer these general questions about treatment during the initial examination, we will address specific areas after careful analysis of your diagnostic records. These complimentary screening records are made at no charge in order for Dr. Stroop to analyze your individual orthodontic needs and make a plan of treatment, because in-depth planning leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.
We will then schedule a follow-up consultation visit to discuss the treatment plan and/or options, treatment times, and financial arrangements. We desire that our patients leave the office from this consultation with a clear understanding of what the treatment will consist of and how long it will take. Also, we will answer any additional questions that arise.
Scheduling Appointments
Visiting our office about every four to eight weeks is an essential part of your orthodontic treatment. Our practice will work with you to make sure your appointments are as convenient as possible. When scheduling appointments, please let us know which days and times work best for you.
We understand that “life happens”! If you’re running late or need to reschedule, please let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. When you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, contact our practice and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist you. We’re looking forward to working with you.
Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment
It is vital that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups, even during your orthodontic treatment. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure you receive the best possible care.
